Tragically, this adorable and personable little senior did not survive the anesthesia when he went in for a dental to address his severe periodontal disease on 1/15/16.

This is Apache.

He is a dinky little guy weighing just 7 lbs.

But his "rep" at the shelter was that he was "quite nasty," barking and lunging and being aggressive toward everyone.

Clearly that was just a fear issue, because once he got out of that scary environment, he turned out to be a happy, mellow little dude.

With quite the personality!

Marjie isn't so sure she appreciates being squeezed out of "her" bed. But she never objected.

Apache had some serious dental disease going on. Teeth went every which direction, periodontal infection, ulcers on lips and gums, deep recessions with root exposure and loose teeth. Clearly he was going to be much more comfortable getting that all cleaned up.

But, despite his bloodwork looking good and his heart and lungs sounding good, tragically his little heart didn't tolerate the anesthesia and he arrested within seconds of being put under. The vet staff was not able to revive him, and we lose this precious little soul 1/15/16.
