Bowl 11 Tenon did not suit me. Did not feel secure.
Bowl 12 New larger tenon being glued on.
Bowl 13 Back on the lathe being turned. The rough area is where I have started to make the bowl round again. Lots of grain tearout that will have to be corrected.
Bowl 14 Smoothed, tear out mostly removed and shellac sealer applied to stop CA from staining. Cracks filled with CA and sawdust- step 1.
Bowl 15 More smoothing, tear out almost all gone. Pores and tiny voids filled with fine sanding dust.
Bowl 16 Another coat of shellac to seal the filled pores and voids- step 2.
Bowl 17 Time to start working on the inside. Outside is done as much as it can be for the time.
Bowl 18 Thinning the wall of the bowl.
Bowl 19 Inside thinned and rough sanded. Grain tear out removed. Time for the first coat of shellac.
Bowl 20 Who is going to clean up this mess ? Most of the bowl is on the floor !
Bowl 21 Filling tiny voids and pores. Edge rounded. Almost there for the inside.
Bowl 22 The inside is finished. Next the bowl gets reversed on the lathe and the outside is worked to completion.
Bowl 23 Off the chuck finally!
Bowl 24 New jam chuck glued up and faceplate mounted.
