The clash of the Titans. Both teams had very similar records, so it looked like it could be a close game. They had no subs and we had 2. We had the wind at our backs and lots of chances in the first half but the ref was nailing us with offside calls. Not a lot of shots on goal — then their #9 striker streaked through and Kyle blocked his first shot. The ball bounced off the player's hand, down to his feet and the shot went in. The ref ruled there was no intent to touch the ball. 'Same ruling in the second half, when there was an obvious hand ball in their box. #9 got a breakaway again in the second half to make it 2-0, then Al scored after a lot of work. One of their players got his second yellow in the game and was sent off. (We got no cards.) Somewhere in there, Jordan Yliruusi banged a hard shot off the post in his first game with the team. Josh was next to score, though the Titans argued it was offside. It looked no different than what we were being called on before — but hey, they were lucky to get away with the earlier handball! 2-2 final and everybody was happy!
