• Note: Where the schedule gives no time, take it as 2:00 p.m.
• 6 teams in the Chwk league and 8 in Abby. We play 10 Chwk games and single games vs. Abby teams. Playoffs include all 6 Chwk teams. Top 2 get a bye in first round. Single knock-out.
• In late October and into November, there is a memorial tournament on Wednesday evenings, under lights. It's single knock-out and it's included in the league fees.
• League fees will be $1,600 for the team. The fixed cost is $23.00/player to register with Soccer B.C. (insurance, etc.) The rest covers ref and field fees — so if we have, say... 20 players, those costs are spread wider than if we had just 13 players.
• We also could have some sponsorship, with ads put on this site. If you know of any business that might want to sponsor, let me know. $50.00 total would give them an ad in each photo album. We'll get pics of most games, as long as we have a spare or a fan to shoot for us.
• Jerseys: supplied by Valley Helicopters.
• Josh (and possibly a few others) are interested in acting as a player-coach and would like some feedback on what we would want coaches to do for us. Perhaps we want someone to say "listen up guys" — and then give us something to think about. Maybe we want some pre-game drill ideas too. Comments?

josh · 18 yr The group photo looks sharp and it is almost like a dream that we now have a soccer team in Hope. I enjoyed being there with you all. I remembered Garry and Barry were the first few friends I made when I moved to Hope in mid 90's and started to play drop-ins next to the Rec Center. Paz was the organizer then. And now, we are playing in a team with all these fast gunners...boy, am i tired today after yesterday's game. Josh wasn't determined to be head coach or anything like that... he was just throwing an idea out there, if the group wanted that kind of help. Congrats on breaking through the "old school" mode and being able to call me "Barry" instead of "Mr. Stewart." I'll try and return the favour by not scoring any own-goals on you next time! Barry Kyle K · 18 yr I wouldn't say that we need a "Coach" per se, I think we could just set up some pre-game drills, and come to some sort of agreement on playing time. I feel that the positions that people should play is fairly evident from drop in. People will stand up and lead pre game with some good thoughts and comments and I feel that that might be a good way to keep it a real team, so everyone feels they can have some input. Anyways, thanks a lot for all the work you've put in Barry and looking forward to having some fun starting the end of the month. |
