We were short a few players, so Mason and Nathaniel joined us from the Mustangs. Also, Shelley Empey and Brad Kurucz were on our team.

Nathan Polomark had injured his ankle after school and had to miss the game — and the weekend Choppers' game.

The Mustangs got off to an early lead when Yvon made a nice low shot that Kyle had to dive for. Kyle tipped it and it bounced off the inside of the post and over to an unmarked Michael Stewart (no relation) who had an open net to tap it into.

We controlled the flow after that — but it seemed like almost half an hour before James got his hat-trick rolling. Ralf had been going on a few forays to the left corner, popping nice left-footed crosses. On his last cross, he used his right foot and James caught it for a driving header to the left side of the goal.

Zane also scored one — and made a great diving tip-save when he replaced Kyle in net for the last part of the game.
