Woo hoo!

0-0 last time with these guys. This time was a much better team effort for us. There was more patience with the ball and supporting with options for passes. Better passing, too.

There's still room for improvement on back and square (sideways) passing... but we're heading the right way.

Communicating and being in a supportive position helps us reduce our level of panic as well.

No yellows for us, but they got 3.

After about 25 minutes, they got the first goal on a hard bounce from a goal kick or punt. It went over the D's heads and their striker got a good jump on it and made a good low shot past Kyle.

Yvon soon got a cross from Matt and made some plays across the goal mouth before shooting.

Jeremy followed with a high chip shot (on a free kick from outside the box.) The keeper was blinded by the sun and the ball went just under the crossbar. It found a hole in the netting and bounced out behind and they were complaning that it never went in. The ref got a good look at it.

Kyle had to stop some good chances to keep us ahead — and the crossbar came in handy in the second half. The ball chipped over Kyle and he knew he was beaten, so he just gave up on it. BUT! The ball hit the bar squarely and came down in front to me and it made its way to a safe place.

They were really targeting Yvon for some heavy hits but he kept on getting up.

Ryan took the ball to the right corner and put it across in front of the net (then got smashed over), where it bounced around a bit before Andy knocked it in.

I believe it was then, that they got a PK on an alleged rough check by Daniel in the box. They scored.

Yvon got two more, with some deking and shooting to make it 5-2.

Beautiful weather, for our first game back after the break.

My new camera can do 8 frames per second. I don't have a good lens yet, though.

We got a free kick from this one, while they complained that Yvon had submarined their guy. I wish I had kept the shutter going, as he landed hard a second later.
