Pretty well about what the score should have been.
We didn't deserve to win and we didn't deserve to lose... but nearly did on a free kick from the 18 with 5 seconds left.
We also didn't deserve the yellow card that Geoff got. It's our first of the season.
We were doing well at keeping the ball on the ground... but the passing was sloppy and half the time we were passing to their team (Scott's observation). We were out of synch.
Shots were either off-target, or low-power.
Meanwhile, Kyle had to be sharp to take care of a few Warrior chances.
Our best chance came late in the first half when Andrew Lubben did an overlapping play with Ryan and ran the ball down into the corner, then crossed it over to James. The keeper got a piece of it and eventually it got knocked over the bar.
Our defence were blocking lots of shots, to help Kyle — and we were going up for a lot of headers and getting many of them.
Kyle saved the final shot of the game, then Darren knocked it out before the Warriors could pounce on it — and the whistle blew.
Warriors lived up to their name, netting 4 yellows. One guy got 2, for a red.
Despite their starting two short and ending one short, we didn't make the best of the advantages.
Our first shut-out for Kyle, though. | Album by Barry Stewart. Photos by Barry Stewart. 1 - 29 of 29 Total. 290 Visits. |
