ʻAʻala Park (January 9, 2010)Brenda & Darlene ROCKED! (& Noa too...)
It was great to hang out & listen to them. Kahuli got a late start (we're named ater a snail, ok?), but it went pretty good! We were joined by Noa & blessed by the beautiful dancers of Na Hula Ola i ke Ao. Special guests for the day included Sean (Heifara) of Aloha Liberation Front (a Kahuli predecessor band) & Poka Laenui, who walked from his radio show to check us out. Mahalo!
Park residents wrote us requests on scrap paper, which we gave our best shot (never did "Red red Wine" before - e kala mai!!)
and even joined us to jam a bit afterward.
We were also visited by HPD, but were able to finish on Kahuli time!

UH 1/2/6 (January 2, 2006)| Kahuli played at the opening for an indigenous peoples' workshop at the Center for Hawaiian Studies at UH on January 2. The event was hosted by Noenoe Silva and Lilikala Kame'eleihiwa. Happy new year! |
