Desoto Mine 2008 (June 14, 2008)| We met up at Cordes Junction and took the back way to Mayer and then on to Senator Hwy through Pine Flat. After a lengthy break at the Desoto trailhead, we hit the rocks. Everyone did a fine job getting through, even the Rhino that came along. We kept going and going, hoping to find shade for lunch but there was nothing but small bushes to be found. That is, until we found Desoto Mine. We ventured into the mine for some exploring and enjoyed the cool 60 degree (or colder) air blowing out from inside the mountain. After that we spent some time in Cleator where there was a live band and lots of folks dancing and having a good time. Thanks to everyone that made the trip. It was a great one! |

August 2007 ZOA Trail Ride (August 12, 2007)| We did a night run to Crown King. It started out a little warm but cooled off nicely. Along the trail we kept getting "attacked" by these big fat beetles. Harmless, but freaky at night. Then I found the big tire killing piece of steel at Oro Belle. I was telling my wife about how people keep hitting this piece of "PPPPFFFFFFSSSSSSSHHHHHHHTTTTTTT", there goes my tire. We made it to Crown King by 10pm and the place was really busy so we just headed home. Not many pics, we were just cruzin. |

July 2007 ZOA Trail Ride (July 8, 2007)Trail: The Rolls at Saguaro Lake
Difficulty: Moderate
Three of us met at Four Peaks Rd and headed for the lake. We went to the fourth cove first and took a swim and had some lunch. Then we headed to the rock point between the first two coves. After jumping off the rock and swimming some more we headed out. At the gate to Butcher Jones we found Bill unloading his Zuk. He was trying to catch up to us but we were ready to go. Aaron and I headed to Needle Rock on our way north and I showed him Spare Tire Canyon. It was a fun day, too bad more people didn't join us! |

June 2007 Belated ZOA Trail Ride (June 24, 2007)| Four of us took a trip to the north side of Lake Pleasant from Table Mesa Rd and I-17. The area will soon be closed to motorized vehicles because of people abusing the park. After saving some stuck fishermen, we headed west and then south to the lake. We took a swim and also found the underground spring that we located a few years ago. It was a great time! |

January 2007 ZOA Trail Ride (January 14, 2007)Trail: Tip Top Loop
Difficulty: Moderate
The trail was a bit rough for the three stock vehicles with us, but they made it through ok. We had one broken tcase mount and an electrical snafu. Then there was a tip over. "Are those things tippy?" Everyone had a great time and nobody go hurt so it was all good. We made it to the lookout point of Black Canyon City and decided to head back the way we came so we wouldn't run out of daylight. We visited Tip Top and headed home. |

December 2006 ZOA Trail Ride (December 10, 2006)Trail: El Oso Mine Rd (Four Peaks Rd) and Edward Park Trail
Difficulty: Moderate
After a long dusty ride to the top of Four Peaks, we headed north on Trail 422 and then back south on Trail 463 to El Oso Mine. The trail was steep and rutted and had a few rough spots that caused some damage to a few vehicles. A few dings, dents and even a broken axle/locker. After a tour of the mine we headed out, towing our broken down member out to safety. Even though it was cold and windy, we all had a great time! |
