YAMADA - TOKYO BROOCH
I just got this brooch. Very pretty and heavy. It appears to be signed Yamada Tokyo on the back. Anyone heard of that, know anything?

"I had a Yamada Tokyo brooch that I sold a couple months back. It was done in black glass and rhinestones with a very deco feel--yet it was definitely newer. I was never able to find any info on the maker either." --Karen Kavan, 11/08/08
"Gorgeous brooch! This was about all I could find but Yamada seems to be a fairly popular name There's also a Yamada Henry Jewelry in "little Tokyo" LA, CA but I couldn't find a website, just a yellowpage listing." --Lilly Vittetow, 11/08/08
"I also did find a couple of items on ebay that the sellers also say are marked Yamada Tokyo, but I can not compare the signatures because the sellers did not provide back photos. They also did not seem to have any info about Yamada either." --Karla Wacker, 11/08/08
"Yep, but you just never know. Maybe started out with costume or vice versa. Thought the Little Tokyo one in LA, CA was interesting. To bad I couldn't locate a website. Do you think it is a newer piece or vintage?" --Lilly Vittetow, 11/08/08
"I don't think it is 1960's but it also does not seem new. It seems very well made, but the stones are glue set. It just seems to say maybe 80's to me, but I could be all wet on this one. It really has me confused. Now the two items on ebay. One the seller said was 80's the other they did not say but it looked older to me say 60's." --Karla Wacker, 11/08/08
