ANSWER: CLOISONNE BEADS
I bought this strand of beads this week and am at loss whether to call them millefiore or Cloisonne. They are vintage, hand knotted and strung on blue thread. Each bead has flowers and gold scroll on it and the clasp is marked silver and has an Oriental look so I lean toward cloisonne, but wanted some one with more knowledge of beads than me to give me their opinion.

"These would be cloisonne beads. The colors seperated by metal is the easiest way to tell the difference. Great explanation http://www.chinavoc.com/arts/handicraft/closinne.htm" --Lilly Vittetow, 07/20/08
"The gold on them makes them look like Cloisonne to me." --Sheri Weiss, 07/20/08
"From what I can tell from your pic I would call them Cloisonne..the definition is:a design or pattern is formed of wire soldered on to a groundplate creating cells which are filled with enamel...whereas millefiore means a thousand flowers." --Judi Bollan, 07/20/08
"The close-up pic of the necklace definitely shows cloisonne'" --Lil Roberts, 07/20/08
