ANSWER: CONSENSUS NOT CZECH
I bought this last weekend, she said it was Czech. I say no to that. Just the construction is so
solid and heavy and the clasp is not one I normally see. The first thing Ithought was French. Pics don't do this justice. Anyone ever seen this before??

"well, it's beautiful but I was thinking Germany or Japan, lol!" --Lilly Vittetow, 12/07/08
"Well of course it's hard to tell by a picture but I have German and Japanese glass flower necklaces and this ain't one of them :) This one has something else, just a feel and it's just finished off beautifully. The color is superb. Germany before Japan but I'm still thinking French first but I definitely could be wrong! I just kept picking it up and looking at it when I saw it. I paid more than I normally do for this as it just had that little extra something." --Melissa Sands, 12/07/08
"I have a white flower glass bead necklace with the same clasp; I too thought it was unusual. The beads on mine are dimpled white glass, flowers like yours, with green leaves kinda Haskell-ish at first glance. Looks like the flower theme and the clasp run consistent with the creator. Not much help with ID'ing the maker, but perhaps provides additional insight on construction." --Christia, 12/07/08
"Okay, this one definitely reminds me of Germany pieces! Look at our cow made in Germany albumand you'll see what I mean. http://imageevent.com/thejewelryring/madeingermany Germany made some gorgeous jewelry. I love finding them!!" --Lilly Vittetow, 12/07/08
"I can tell you that the flowers and leaves are Japanese if that helps!" --Stefanie Brawner, 12/07/08
"That is the same clasp as in on my Dubaux necklace! It unscrews, right?" --Mary Nefzger, 12/07/08
"I can not find any information on Dubaux. My sister got this necklace at an estate sale along with some Haskell, Panetta and Krementz. (She's a GREAT sister!) I found one necklace --- can not remember if it was on RL or EBay --- That's it. I wish I knew more." --Mary Nefzger, 12/07/08
"Didn't Germany do a lot of the glass flowers? ... or were they plastic flowers? My first thought was German when I saw it, but I don't know a lot about glass flower necklaces." --Linda Lombardo, 12/07/08
"Well, you know me, I love glass flower necklaces, but I honestly don't think you have enough to go on to make a precise attribution here. I've seen this screw-barrel clasp mostly with Italian necklaces, but not exclusively. I love those satin-glass like flowers, but I've seen those from several places as well. I think sometimes beads were shared and passed around different makers/countries. I honestly don't think this is French, but I could be wrong. I would expect a rounder barrel shape with the clasp. My vote would be either Czech or Italy." --Lisa Corcoran, 12/07/08
