ANSWER: LATE 40S, EARLY 50S.
I have this oriental style expansion bracelet. I think the green inserts are plastic. Anyone know anything?

"Not really, the Characters are Chinese, and I don't think we were importing from them yet, I think it is American Costume done to look like Asian Influence. That was such a big theme in Costume, they probably just used the findings. The flex bands were very big, I have a bunch of them, they are really comfortable. They were used in a lot of watchbands back then too. The green is the same kind of plastic you find in the old chunky bracelets. It is just a little more special than the solid color ones that you tend to see more often. I had it with me at the street fair I did last weekend, I think about 30 people put it on, one kid nearly broke it, (they sure are sturdy) it was a real attention getter in person." --Sheri Weiss, 06/07/08
