ANSWER: PROBABLY BULLION
I have a couple of requests today for information.  The first is this great spun gold-tone metal bracelet.  I’m guessing the 1960s.  It is hand-made and just SO COOL!   Any other ideas on the time period?   Also, do you think this is an artisan piece of perhaps could be from one of the designers of the time?   It is super-well-made and is 2” wide.

"I can't quite tell by the sheen of the metal from the photo but if it is very thin metal wire (sometimes brass with gold wash, sometimes silver) that comprises the piece, then it is Bullion. Same as used in many military pieces, shoulder boards and metals, parade standards (small flags carried into battle or for parades) all used Bullion wire wrap work. http://www.tradekey.com/product_view/id/358369.htm http://www.trademe.co.nz/Antiques-collectables/Automotive-transport/Ships-boats/auction-189247298.htm Its a time consuming process, unfortunately now you only see it made in mostly Asian countries because of costs, they can have it done in Asia for low wages. I do think it might be earlier than the 60's but would love to hear others input on it. Its really a great looking bracelet." --Carolyn Sunday, 12/07/08
