ANSWER: PROBABLY CZECH/BOHEMIAN & POSSIBLY REAL AMETHYST

Am I correct in thinking this is probably pre-1930's czech
Jo
"Jo, take your necklace with the purple "stones" to a jeweler. Chances are they are real smethyst. I learned the hard way on that. My mother gave me a ring with a purple "stone" in it that had belonged to her aunt. She said she didn't know if it was real or glass. I took my turquoise to a man who was supposed to be an excellent appraiser. The ring was in the box. I think I was about 22 at the time. Well he couldn't appraise the turquoise for me but I showed him the ring. He kind of puffed up and said "Young lady that is a beautiful Victorian ring with a real amethyst." I have been more careful ever since. I have a feeling yours are too. As to who made them, I have no idea but I'll bet it is real amethyst." --Nancy Cox, 01/03/09
"purple pendant looks Czech to me also and is gorgeous!! Hopefully someone with more insight will be by soon!" --Lilly Vittetow, 01/03/09
"Agree it is definitely Czech and if before 1918 then more correctly Bohemian. Would need to see the full piece and back to be absolutely sure. Hope this helps." --Judy, 12/10/10
