"This is an example of why I do not attend this affair--I see children attend and it is unacceptable to have prople dress in this way--why do women feel the need to portray themselves as needy of attention...let's see imaginative costumes and not ones that expose flesh in such a nasty and tacky way--especially when children attend these affairs..." --Disgusted, 09/13/06 "hey Disgusted... glad you werent there, preaching to people out to have fun can be a dangerous thing.
BTW, Most riske' costumes were worn after hours, you Doosh" --doosh spotter, 09/13/06 "That's spelled "douche"." --anon, 09/13/06 "well, I wanna keep it PG in case any kids are surfing the interweb,
I'll be da**ed if they find this"sleezy" stuff because of me....lol" --doosh spotter, 09/13/06 "Dear Disgusted,
Why are you looking at the pictures if this is a reason you do not attend this affair? One can see more skin on any public beach. This is an event that you must purchase a ticket to attend, which caters to and encourages people who enjoy science fiction and fantasy to costume. Google Boris Vallejo, he is one greatest sci-fi fantasy artists. But you would likely put a fig leaf on the statue of David. These ladies are enjoying themselves portraying comic book charcters, they are not "needy of attention." I received plenty of attention dressed as Darth Vader. And in general children do not have a problem with the naked human body, only guilty adults. If we let people like you influence our freedoms of choice all women would be wearing berkas with just the eye slits. I know you are going to say, that's not what you mean, but "THAT" is how it starts. Life is short, Enjoy It. And let others enjoy their's." --Enjoy Life, 09/14/06 "Hey, Dooshgusted... Don't like it? Don't look. I've seen less clothing on women swimming at my local YMCA.
Flippin' idiot..." --Napoleon, 09/15/06 "As the mother (Eternal member) of a child who attended Dragoncon for the first time, I have no problem with this. You will see way more flesh on a beach than you will ever see at Dragoncon." --Clementine, 09/16/06 "Just so you all know, my costume was created for a very exacting costume contest sponsored by the con and judged by the artist of Dawn himself: Joseph Michael Linsner. That Y-shaped thong back is an exact reproduction of the back of the outfit as portrayed on pages 32-33 of the "Dawn: Lucifer's Halo" trade paperback, so the skimpyness was not simply for "attention." That costume was a tribute to a celebtrity guest at DragonCon, and this pic was taken just after the Costume Track panel about said contest, for which I was a contributing writer. It's not MY fault they scheduled the panel for 4pm. *shrug*
And Disgusted, why are you looking at DragonCon pics if you boycott it because of things you SEE? There is nothing wrong with a confident woman, and the earlier children of both sexes learn that, the better off America will be. Equality Now!" --Vixen Darkfairy, 09/18/06 "love your buns in hose babe, would luv to cum all over them :) lol" --mark, 05/10/07 | |
