Also note the large filter on the front lens which had to be on if the scope was to be used in light, too much light would trigger the set to shut down to avoid burning out the intensifier unit. This is a first generation NV set, was the second in the line of, AN/PVS1, AN/PVS2, AN/PNVS3, & AN/PVS4.
