David King Is The Best!! We Love You!
| Shea Walker | Wed, 26 Sep 2007 8:51PM |
I'm an old Barton College Basketball player and I was there for the entire week. I remember exactly where and what I ate the entire time in Mass. Sounds Crazy - right ?! I have tons of related stories but one that I must share. I told on of my old teammates (Tim Jones) that if Barton made it to the Championship that he would have to come. He replied sarcastically "sure" ! There is MORE drama to this story; nevertheless, he and Brad walked in the gym at tip-off.

I think everyone in Orlando heard me screaming at the end of the game! What a way to win.

I am so happy for this team!! You made me proud to be a graduate and an employee and glad to drive 12 hours to see it in person. What an awesome experience to be in Springfield for the Championship game!! Not only were you the best team there, you also earned the admiration and respect of the people of Springfield. Time and again I heard about the heart you showed and what a well mannered and inspiring group of young men that you were. Ron, you did a fabulous job and showed everyone that David can still beat Goliath. Thank you for letting us be a part of this special time. My girls will never forget this!!

As a previous bulldog basketball player ('95-'99) and now a NCAA D1 soccer coach the WIN has given me and my team at Murray State University great inspiration for next season. I'm been an avid D1 basketball fan for years & never appreciated D2 hoops until my daughter attended a small school. I heard the story of Barton's championship on National Public Radio & was inspired by the coach mentioning that he read the Biblical story of David & Goliath to the team prior to the game. Congratulations on a great season!
| Marc Oslar | Mon, 26 Mar 2007 4:30PM |
Words cannot express what I saw on Saturday afternoon. This team might have been the greatest team of destiny I have every witnessed. You guys make me proud to be a 2001 graduate of Barton College. I still hear a Barton joke once in a while, but no one can take this from us! Congratulations boys! P.S. Anthony Atkinson the Lord has truly blessed you, and in turn you have truly blessed us. Thank you for being faithful.

What can you say about a coach a bunch of kids who are as humble with others and as faithful to each other as any 'team' ever has been. Way to go Ron--couldn't happen to a better human being. Thanks for everything guys!
| Harold Wade | Mon, 26 Mar 2007 1:23PM |
I was graduated from Atlantic Christian College 1n 1971 back when the school was NAIA and the only thing we did pretty good was play tennis under Coach Tom Parham. This game was really thrilling; I couldn't be happier. I tivoed and was so pleased with the outcome that I edited out the commercials and burned to DVD. It will reside in my archive forever.
| Denise | Mon, 26 Mar 2007 12:27PM |

| Robb | Mon, 26 Mar 2007 11:36AM |
Way to go Bulldogs. I am a '01 graduate and there wasn't much to celebrate sports wise when I attended but you all made up for that. Anytime my friends call me and tell me that the Bulldogs are playing means that we have the National Spotlight. And you all won in an unforgettable and classy way.
| Taft Walker | Mon, 26 Mar 2007 10:39AM |
Congratulations, Bulldogs! Job well done!
| Karen Churn | Mon, 26 Mar 2007 8:24AM |
I'm a Central Missouri alum, therefore, when Winona beat Central Missouri on Wednesday night, I was for Barton all the way. Oh, my goodness! You guys rock!!! I wasn't home to watch the game live, but, thankfully, taped it. I've watched the final minute no less that six times! That's what basketball is all about. From now on, you guys will be known as "The Lion Tamers." Way to go!
| Karmesha Peterson | Mon, 26 Mar 2007 7:31AM |
I know that Barton's male basketball team has worked hard to make it where they are. God bless all of you talented players. All of you deserve that trophy. You have put Barton on the map. And to my little cousin Anthony Atkinson; you have no idea how proud we are of you and you and your new fiance be blessed and continue to put God first and you will always prosper. Love you.

| Wayne Pitt | Mon, 26 Mar 2007 7:30AM |
Just wanted to say congradulation on a job well done. Number eleven reminded me of myself in my Barton days with the heart and desire of a winner and most important "Never A Quiter and play to win no matter how many seconds remain". This was a great example to to all players in the world today at any level of play that anything is possible if you believe in it hard enough. Once again Job well Done!

What a great game and what big hearts the team has. They made us all proud. Thanks for letting the alumni know about the game on TV. Barton basketball has come a long way from the teams in the arly 60's.

Being an ACC graduate living in Florida, as is my daughter living in Denver; got to say Barton made us proud to be graduates. Barton doesn't much coverage where we live and this was great.
| Cristy Tu conley | Mon, 26 Mar 2007 4:02AM |
This game kept me on the edge of my seat the entire game. I was talking to everyone from the people sitting next to me, to the commentators on the TV, to you guys on the court, to even the water bottle in my hand! But you guys did us proud, your team work and the angels on the court worked together to get us the D2 Championships. Thanks for all the work that you have done!
| Gray | Sun, 25 Mar 2007 11:49PM |

| Gray | Sun, 25 Mar 2007 11:44PM |
Unbelievable! I have been watching basketball for a long time. I have never seen a game like this. What heart and determination. You were an inspiration to us all. I am an alumnus of ACC/Barton. One of my suite mates in Hackney Hall was the center on the team when I was in college there. We would all go to the games and support him and the team. I don't know where he is now, but he must be ecstatic. Thanks guys for one day in March I will never forget. Congratulations!
