I appreciate the tip on the irregular block from the corners to accommodate the stretchiness!  After knitting a few blankies, I may switch for awhile to this method . . . much faster!

Just wanted to thank you for posting this and the instructions. I found it easier using a rotary blade and fringe template, mostly b/c it hurt my hands to cut with scissors (arthritis).

Liked the suggestion for cutting selvage edge.  This was a problem for me.

I'm on my sixth blanket and would like to let people know that I tie a regular square knot instead, it makes the fringe look a little fuller.  Not only that but you can make your blanket any size you want.   I also use a ruler and white chalk to measure my fringe cuts instead of a tape measure.

FLEECE EDGING

This will be my first time making one of these. I have a new grandchild coming in June and normally make a baby afgan for the baby to come home in.  Being this child will be born in June I am hoping this wont be as heavy but will still do the trick.

I have seen quite a few fleece blanket patterns, I am looking for ones that are tied but also have cuts inside the fringe so that the fabric from the back shows through.

I'm going to be working with the Linus Project making blankets for kids and teens that are having Chemo. They are called hug blankets.  We dontate these to a Cancer Center or if we are made away of a child or teen we will donate right to them.  We also take Quilted Blankets too.
