I love my C&C Cage. Thanks to this website that made it all possible I have built a cage far better than what I would have paid well over double for in the store.

So glad I found this web site 2 years ago when we got our first guinea pig. Now we have added a second young boar, and another large section to the cage. The boys are very happy together and love their living space.

Where do you buy the items to create such a great cage? The bottom and the sides. I love the one you created in pictures 1-3. I only have one guinea pig and would love for him to have more space.

Thank you so much for your website! I plan to get four sow babies next month from a small scale breeder who really loves her animals, and I can't wait! I went to the pet shop looking for housing and wasn't impressed with the tiny cages I saw there...not to mention the price they were asking! Then, by sheer luck, I stumbled upon your website and now have a 6'X 3 1/2' C&C cage that I made for less than $40!! I also found a wonderful supplier of beautiful, super soft fleece...Corinthian Mills...where I've ordered all my bedding! I know my pigs will be very happy in their new home! Thanks again!

About 2 weeks ago our jumbo rat "Buddy" passed away from old age. We had a cage for him that was very big, again for him. When we went to the pet stor to get another rat, we fell in love with "Buddy2" our new piggy. We were using the old cage, until I ran across this site. I just finished a 2x4 grid C&C cage and we can really tell the difference in "Buddy2"s' attitude. Also we were able to get him a friend, "Jack". Thank you very much for the info!!

Try B&Q again, very hard to find in the store but they do have them. Here is a link to what you are looking for. I give them the barcode and they were able to locate them for you.

Danielle! My name is also Danielle! Surely you can look in your phonebook under signs and find a signs store! They will more than likely have coroplast. Coroplast is used to make yard signs!

This website is awesome, I raised guinea's among many other animals growing up and now that we have kids decided to go for the guinea's again. We bought a large pet store cage on ebay then I found this site and went out today and found everything. It's still not complete but Midnight & Bandit love it already!

I adore guinea pigs, they are much more social than rabbits. I have a rabbit together with a guinea pig at the moment and they are more than okay. The rabbit i have is very careful and sensitive and so she always is great with it. I plan to get a cavy friend for my guinea pig though - and bring them inside into my room. That will be really exciting.

| nanci | Sat, 24 Jul 2004 6:14PM |
I have eight pigs at the time. the cage is getting too crowded, I had the males fixed and thought it was good enough, but twice it was aftetr they were already pregnant. you have to hhave them ffixed at a young age. I was wondering how much $ it cost any oof you to have the male fixed. I paid 80 the first time, and 140 the second. sounds expensive. I cant afford to have anymore fixed at the time, and dont want to part with any due to missing them, and not being able to find a great home for them......

I LOVE these cages. We went from 1 Guinea, to two, to five. Our second Guinea was pregnat from the pet store, after they were born we couldnt part with them. So with three girls and two boys, we need more room. The Girls moved into there new home about two weeks ago. The boys are now in larger home as well. But I cant believe the difference in the Girls, they are more active, verbal, playful, it is sooo amazing. Now everytime you walk in the room, they squeal and run to the front of the cage to greet you. lol...This gets the boys going, five Guineas squeal at once is certainly noise, bt it makes me smile, i love it. The boys will move into thier new c&c cage in two weeks, just a smaller version since there is only two, they cant wait. On behalf of Karmel, Sophie, April, Harley, Chevy and my family thanks so much for the design idea, heck for sharing the whole c&c cage idea. We are ALL VER HAPPY.
| Tammie O. | Mon, 26 Apr 2004 12:55PM |
Thank-you for the cage suggestions. I built a two-storey enclosure for my 3 guinea pigs using some of the ideas on this site and they love it! I cover the upper level with newspapers and the lower level with shavings. I put their fresh greens on the upper level, so they are not eating shavings with their food. I can change the newspapers frequently to keep everything fresh and clean!
| Darlene | Sun, 25 Apr 2004 6:35AM |
Thank you so much for this great idea! My 3 little ones are going to love this! The world needs more pet lovers like you!

| Aviva | Sun, 22 Feb 2004 4:18PM |
I bought a doughnut cat bed from Petco (around $10) and made a low ramp to it using Fiddle Sticks (ferretstore.com) covered with an old towel. The pigs not only love to sleep in the bed (and rarely pee in it since it's on a different level), but they love the slight bounciness of the ramp. They sort of bound in and out of bed!

I was looking for something simple, but big enough to hold two pigs, and give them enough room for some excersize without having to run all over the house, and Barney & Muffin's Condo seems perfect and simple. Thanks for letting me view this.
| Chris | Fri, 3 Oct 2003 6:48AM |
When I decided to get my pig (Myrtle) a new friend, I decided a bigger cage was needed. After checking out a few cages at the pet store, I quickly realized these cages were going to be a winner. I saw such small, cramped cages for over $80. I went out and puchased the grides ($10 on sale at Target) and the Coroplast ($25 4x3 sheet). Total my new cage cost me about $35 ! It was very easy to put together. (I am not a "handy type person") Less than 1/2 of what the pet stores sell with about 10 times more room. My pigs (new pig is Pumpkin) are so happy and so am I. I improved their quality of life, thanks to this website !

Just found your website while doing a search for guinea pig cages. We have a 6 mo. old calico boar named Stu (named after Stu Pickles from Rugrats). He's a lot of fun. Got him for my son's 7th birthday but the whole family enjoys playing with him. He is in a cage that is 24X14X14 and is quickly outgrowing it. I love the ideas for larger cages that I saw in your photo albums. Stu will be getting a new "condo" very soon!

These look great! As soon as we buy a house, I will have to try making one of these luxury homes for our piggy. I know she will love the extra space.

the cage is cheaper to build than a petstore cage is to buy, coroplast cost me $12, cubes were $40 for 3 boxes, I have a 6x2 grid cage with 2 upper decks...

I am SOOOO GLAD I found your site! I made a cage, and in the process found that the back seats in my car fold down--got the coroplast home without a problem. It was so much fun to see my girls run "hot laps" around the cage the first time I put them in. As a single parent on a budget, your cage design was a real blessing! I spent a total of $35 and have three times the room of an $80 commercial cage. My girls thank you all!

This is a great web site. I am going to make a bigger cage for my two gp's so they can be together all of the time. I was just looking at an $80 cage and I'm so glad I came across your site during my GP search. Thanks for sharing your time with trials and errors and letting us guinea pig parents know about your findings. I love sharing things like this, it benefits many!

The cages look great. My sister made one and only has one pig. She found the site and showed it to me, now I can't wait to make my first cage, as I am the one with all the pigs and enjoys raising them.
