I think this is an excellent site. I like your ideas hope you're still painting. I would love to see more of your work.. am definately thinking of using your idea/s for items in my back garden..my two girls & their children(my grandchildren)will love them.. One question is it best to coat the finished stones in clear varnish or something similar???  Or will the acrylic paints be weather proof??

LynnSun, 18 Aug 2013 2:04PM

Great idea! will use this project as modern art in school garden  will cost nothing but my time. Yeah something. from nothing

mary linda lamaisonWed, 14 Aug 2013 11:59PM

love the strawberry rocks...amazing idea.

beverly jeanThu, 16 May 2013 9:12PM

oh i love these  and it would be fun to make some ladybug stones, that wouldnt be too hard to figure out:) also now im thinking we could use some "glow in the dark" paint too

Christi FrawleySat, 20 Apr 2013 5:30AM

You can most likely find decorative stones and acrylic paints in any craft/hobby store. Try Hobby Lobby, or even JoAnn Fabrics

jean hoganWed, 27 Mar 2013 7:02AM

Rocks are scarce in Illinois.......at least in my area. Can I buy acyllic paint at Walmart?  Help..there are not many stores here .

Hi superb website! Does running a blog such as this require a large amount of work? I have very little expertise in coding however I had been hoping to start my own blog soon. Anyways, should you have any recommendations or techniques for new blog owners please share. I know this is off subject nevertheless I just needed to ask. Thank you!

This message is directed to the last two ladies who left messages for me asking advice concerning blogs and forums. I tried to email you using the addresses you provided but both my emails were  returned as undeliverable. I basically said that, sorry, I have no personal experience with either blogs or forums so am unable to help you with suggestions as which ones might be good.

Wonderful blog you have here but I was curious about if you knew of any forums that cover the same topics talked about here? I'd really like to be a part of online community where I can get opinions from other experienced individuals that share the same interest. If you have any recommendations, please let me know. Thank you!

Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful gift of rock painting.  I followed your strawberry directions and they turned out pretty good, everyone I showed them to was amazed that I actually painted them.  I am not a natural artist or even crafty but I needed an idea for a retreat activity and had a lot of fun making these - you have encouraged me to try new things and exercise my creative side - Thanks again!

Sandra TingleMon, 7 Nov 2011 4:06AM

I am looking forward to giving rock painting a try - I planned to start today and went out to look for rocks.  Unfortunately all the rocks around my house are not appropriate for painting and not the least bit strawberry shaped!  Any suggestions where to find good paintable rocks?  Did a quick search on landscaping stones but not much luck there either so far.  I'm not near a lake or shoreline, so wondering where people in my situation find theirs?

Maria SpradlinTue, 1 Nov 2011 11:18PM

I just want to thank you for sharing your work. I was just looking around ya know seeing what others do with rock painting. My family is always teasing me saying I'd paint on anything..which is true. LOL..think after looking at several other sites I really enjoyed yours the most. I love the little strawberry rocks. I can't believe I never thought of that. We are surrounded by strawberry fields. I can't wait to make a "batch" I also love all critters you paint. That is one thing I just never seem to get right. I'll keep working on it though. Or..better yet, just might have to order one of yours! Have a wonderful day!
Just me,
Suellen

I stumbled on your website looking for the right sealer for flagstone art. I have tried toungue oil and found it doesn't hold up to weather for long (Arizona sun mostly)I have painted several larger lanscapes from photos but they were for indoor display only. Your art is amazing. I am thinking of expanding to murals but love the flagstone medium so much I am torn. Do you have any advice for me?

Thanks for your website.

Thanks so much for the work you put into showing us how to do strawberry rocks! My daughter told me as she watched over my shoulder, "Mom, those are so cute! You could do those and sell them fast!" A job well done indeed!

sibylTue, 25 Jun 2002 9:11PM

Excellent job!!!!  Very well explained and the results are great.  I may even be able to do it and may do some someday along with all the other things I'm thinking of.  If I painted one tenth of the time I spend thinking about it would I ever get a lot done!!  Talk to you soon.
