William Osborne painting
He was an Irish artist born in Dublin who later moved to England and became quite famous in the late 1800's. Beautiful dog

1841 Painting from France authenticated with a hefty price. It depicts a French Bulldog and a Ratter  keeping the castle clear of vermin.

These were titled as a smooth fox terrier. hmmm don't know about that as by the early 1900's The smooth fox already had it's "look" from the vintage photos I have seen.
