The Thai Girls & The Other Girls



There are Thai girls, as they are called, but not all the girls are Thai. You can tell by the hats or headdresses they wear.

True Thai girls will have the pointed hats. The others are more like headdresses worn by the African women and there are some that are more like Native American headdresses. One version has a Chinese Coolie hat. I will group them as much as I can so you can see the difference.

Through research, and your site is the best info I have found so far, I believe I have an unsigned necklace like photo #46, however, the back of the necklace, where the clasp is does not have 2 different types of chain, it stays the same.  Does that make it a knockoff or is it just different?  I can send a photo if you like.  Also, how might I clean the piece?  I don't know what type of metal this is and the entire piece is dirty, not shiny like one of the pieces I saw on your site.  Any help?  Thanks again for a more thorough history on the Selro jewelry!

Hi Kathie, I am Cindy Brown of Cinsababe's on Ruby Lane.  I just got in a gorgeous cobalt blue "princess" bracelet, unsigned of course.  It appears to be one that looks Native American since it has feathers in the head dress.  I would love any insight you have on it and would be glad to have you include the picture on your "girls" page but don't know how to submit a photo to you.

Were any of the Thai girls heads placed on a body that is sitting cross legged like Buddha with the right hand up and the left one in the lap? The head is almost as large as the body. I have seen the head red and cream colored, both claiming to be unmarked Selro brooches. I am not sure this is the forum for a question, but could not figure out where to leave one.Thanks.
