Mary Jane Mouw

I started making jewelry several years ago when I couldn’t find pieces I desired, or if I did I couldn’t afford.  I then found it was a good outlet for stress from my real world job; I could lose myself and turn off thoughts of that for a while.
I am inspired by everything; vintage jewelry, nature, sometimes the material alone tells me what it wants to be…maybe even if I had “something else” in mind.  I love working with glass, crystal, natural gemstones and materials, mixing them up.  I love tracking down new-old stock vintage elements to incorporate into my pieces.  I really love when I can get a torch going or a big hammer and pound away at something like making my own settings for some vintage stone I can’t find settings for.
I’m about big statement runway looks, but not so big they can’t be worn in the real world.   My jewelry is for the woman that knows who she is; confident, strong and feminine all at the same time.
