Table Mountain Rat Terriers
Welcome to Table Mountain Ranch! We are located in the foothills of Clovis, California, with beautiful table top mountains in our backyard! Our family has the joy of living in a wide open area with horse ranches and farms of sizable acreage. We have lots of space to raise a variety of farm animals... garden... and enjoy our surroundings outside of the busy city limits. Our dogs get the opportunity to run and play in large areas and to interact with our other farm animals. They are kenneled indoors at night for their safety.
My husband and I are blessed to be able to home school our three children. We are a close knit family and enjoy many activities together.
Several years ago I decided that I wanted a small breed dog. I've had other small dogs in the past but I knew that I wouldn't have time for a high maintenance dog at this busy time in my life. I needed a dog that was easy to groom, had no health issues and a long life span, was "sturdy" for life in the country, but was comfortable being indoors and just hanging out. After lots of research on the internet, I discovered the Rat Terrier. I purchased my first rat terrier and fell in love. I was hooked! Here is a little dog with a huge heart, intelligence, devotion, personality plus, healthy, and little grooming. If you've ever known and loved a Rat Terrier you know what I mean when I say that they are like little shadows, following you anywhere and everywhere. They want to know what you are doing all the time and to be the center of it. They love to make you laugh. Rat terriers are eager to go anywhere you want to take them and are then content to lay around with you and be a couch potato. I just love this breed!
My family and I have always loved Rat Terriers but we have all learned a lot more since we started showing our dogs through out California. We have shown three dogs to their Champion titles.
We make sure our breeding adults are PLL CLEAR by testing or by CLEAR parentage. We microchip all our dogs and puppies are microchipped before they leave here. We are in the process of getting all our dogs cardiacs and patellas OFA certified.
