Something New for 2009

Shelves are made using solid boards each having some very interesting grain.  I have cut all of the boards on my bandsaw mill and utilize some of the live edges on these pieces.

Spalted Sugar Maple

Made from a large tree that grew along Linn Street in Bellefonte.  The spalting occurs if the wood remains wet and begins to decay.  The zone lines often appear as dark and defined lines along with irregular discoloring.  Spalting can happen in many woods but is most often seen in the different maples.

Made from an unusually tall apple tree, nearly fourteen feet tall before the first branches.  It was salvaged from Third Street in Boiling Springs, on the property of Mike and Marion Rayeur.
