Irvine Lake, Ca. - Lucas Oil (May 3-5-2013)Hello Everyone!
Finally, the beginning of the 2013 Lucas Oil Drag Boat Racing Series is underway, thank God. This weekend we kicked off the long awaited return to Irvine Lake in southern California, it only took almost 28 years! As many of us are witnessing, Ken & Patti Dollar and Lucas Oil have been real busy making things happen, and much sooner than many of us ever expected along with other individuals.
Huge thanks goes out to All that made this event come together ;-)
I made it out to the track for awhile on Thurs. afternoon, since it was 1985 the last time I was present at the last event held at Irvine Lake. Damn, I am giving my age away? Anyway…when I arrived at the track about 12:30pm my jaw hit the ground, looks like a bomb went off. Everywhere I looked there was knocked over porta-potties, Fences, tents/awnings, and so much more! Even the Lucas Oil hospitality tents gone! “Wiped Out” the track was all set up ready for racing, that to was…Wiped out! What a mess.
This happened due to Santa Ana winds that ragged though the area. The Lucas Oil gang had to reset the whole entire facility, and do it in less than a day. Even though there was no test and tune on Friday, the track was ready for racing by late Friday afternoon. An amazing feet and undertaking to have to clean up the disaster/mess and start over again.

I wanted to share this with you all, so that you would appreciate the massive efforts of Ken, Patti and the Lucas Oil gang.
By the time spectators arrived Sat. morning no one would ever of known what had taken place 2-days prior, since everything was in order.
There was some wind challenges over the weekend, racing was completed on both days. Spectators lined the banks of the courses shoreline in fine fashion which people were treated to great racing action and some wild passes.

NJBA - Racing (April 20-21-2013)Hello Everyone!
Here we are in 2013, the second race of the NJBA racing season. The weather was warm, and with great racing conditions all weekend. A great number of race teams made the effort to show up to this event as did a fine number of spectators.
NJBA also put together a Pro-Mod Shoot Out which 6-Pro-Mods showed up to stretch their muscles, as did several TAF’s and Mike Fry brought his TAH “Mean Streak”.

NJBA - Bakersfield, Ca. (March 17-18-2013)Hello Everyone!
Here we are finally the first race of the NJBA season, great weather, great boat count, and actually a good number of spectators showed up during the weekend to witness great racing action. Even TFH-Toxic Rocket showed up to test prior to the start of the Lucas Oil Drag Boat Racing season which starts in a few months at Irvine Lake, here in southern California.

Lucas Oil...2012 Awards Banquet (Jan. 12th, 2013 - Las Vegas,NV)Hello Everyone!
Needless to say that the…2012 Lucas Oil Drag Boat Racing Series Awards Banquet was again an awesome and well planned event! Many of the racers and their families came to Las Vegas from all over the country to pick up their hard earned rewards, and of course to see good friends that many only see when attending the racing events. And of course this is VEGAS! Party Capital of what “Happens In Vegas…Stays In Vegas!!!”

The LODBRS site will have a new look in the next few weeks with a ton of…Photographs, Dates, Scheduling, News, Tech & Safety, TV-Air Times, Racing Clips, Sponsor Info…ETC. Huge Make Over!
The Awards Banquet was scheduled for Sat. Jan. 12th at 6:00pm at the Golden Nugget Casino, a racers meeting was scheduled for 10:00AM Sat. prior to the festivities to go over new rule changes, and other details, which again can be seen/reviewed when you go to LODBRS website.
OK, Friday night a lot of us met up at the Golden Nuggets famed “Ice Bar” which is one of the many great venues of the Golden Nugget Casino, and later many of us went to the Zip-Line Ride on Freemont. Sat. the racers meeting went very smoothly, and Ken Dollar, Mike and Henry went over a lot of information in detail.
Debi Julius President of RESP – Racers Emergency Support Program informed everyone on their program which everyone should be involved in, what this organization does for the racers and team members in our sport across the country is HUGE!! I personally would like to see that the yearly fee for RESP be implemented into the racer/owner and team members annual fee. Then Lucas Oil can cut one check for all member‘s of all associated associations. Just an afterthought~

Sat. Night, Banquet time…started off with cocktail hour, man all the Ladies in a word…OUTSTANDING! Amazing how sharp we all look without a helmet or racing team uniforms…LOL!!! It is nice to have the opportunity to catch up and share a few drinks about the off season happenings and plans for the new up-coming season. When it came time to sit down and eat, dinner was wonderful. The master of ceremonies again, was the crazy duo…Kenny Sargent of SPEED-FEAKS Radio, and Terry Boyd. Both gentlemen did a fine job! The award ceremonies of crowning all the Champions went very smoothly and entertaining.
My personal favorite award of the evening was Driver of the Year…In the Pro-Class the award went to Mr. Shawn Reed-Owner/Driver & 2012 Pro-Mod Champ, Sportsman Driver of the Year…WOW---Sir. Walter Dulin your Top Eliminator TE-Champ ;-) OUTSTANDING!!!
Afterwards it was back to the Ice Bar, and a Fly-Bye Steve Pruits Pad, Let the Party Begin!
Congrats to All the winner for a hard earned fight, and many thanks to Lucas Oil and everyone else!
RESCUE you guys and gals words of thanks is…NEVER enough, But we say it with our hearts and prayers.

The Best of...2011 (2011 Racing Action)Hello Everyone!
What a year 2011 was with a ton of great racing action in all the associations, and the ground breaking of the opening of the new Lucas Oil race track in Wheatland MO.
I want to thank everyone also for an awesome year on visiting my racing photo page website! Last count on Dec. 31-2011, I had...871,583 Viewers/Hits~WOW!!! Again...Thank You So Very Much, and pass the word to anyone that enjoys racing to come and visit my racing photo page website ;-)

The Best of...2010 (2010 Racing Action)Hello Everyoone,
Pictured is your 2010 TFH World Champion John Haas Driving Speed Sports-TFH
With the win this year John Haas is all alone in a class by himself as the very first 5-Time Winner in the Top Fuel Hydro Class...2005-2007-2008-2009 & 2010
On Aug. 7th of this year John Haas lost his life from injuries he sustained in a crash in his TFH.

2013, We are currently working on a...Brand New PROMOD "Fiber Comp Hull" Joel @ Fiber Composits Inc. is doing the lay-up. We hope to be out later in the season racing some NJBA events, and hopefully at the World Finals in Phx. AZ.
