Ch. Rock-e-hill Tara (December 7, 2005)| Tara is my heart dog; she sleeps with me at night. She goes everywhere with me (except in the summer when it is too hot for her and unsafe). She is beautiful and correct, great hunting ability, loyal, friendly, has impeccable manners and everyone that meets her loves her. The really great thing about Tara is that she passes that directly too her puppies! Every one that has been fortunate enough to have gotten a Tara pup has all said the same thing about them. They have never had a Rat Terrier (or any other breed) like them. They all adore them!! . |

GRCH Usona Roscoe | Roscoe belonged to Kirsten from TKR Racing he was like he was mine though, he lived with me for a long time and we went to the shows together. We went to the top together!! Roscoe was a Grand Champion and #3 Rat Terrier in 2001. He influenced my breeding program a lot. Roscoe is now retired in Turlock, loving the city life!! |

Rock-e-hill Smurphy Brown (December 8, 2005)| For those of you following Smurf, here are new pictures you may enjoy. I went outside and was distressed to see the large trenches dug in my husband’s newly planted and just mowed lawn!! All of the sudden out of the corner of my eye I caught her tossing something into the air. It was a gopher!!! A gopher she had caught!!! How can you be upset with that??? 4 months old and her first confirmed gopher!!! I was so very proud!! |

Snake Fighters Well it is spring here at Rock-e-hill and one thing that confirms it is the coming of the Rattlesnakes. As some of you know my Louise is one of the best snakers I have ever had except her father Jagged Edge. You can see his page. I am very proud of my Rats. I feel so much safer with my brave little hunters in the hart of rattlesnake country, knowing that they would risk a nasty bite to rid our living space of these venomous serpents.
I do not want my dogs involved with snakes but out here it is inevitable. I also do not like killing the snakes and have even tried relocating them. After a dear friend was bitten and died, Blain Lang, God rest his soul. I have decided that there is about 300 acres between the Merced River and the three acres I use. If a snake comes on my 3 acres then he made a mistake. If I am out riding or see one on the road I do not bother them unless it is to scare them out of harms way. |

Jagged Edge 'Jag' (August 22, 2005)Look what Jag found for me!!!! Grand Champion Fire Mountain Jagged Edge, some of you know him as a show dog, Jag. In his retirement he has found other things around the ranch to keep him occupied.
Jag would not stop barking, I knew what it was, he had done this before. I went outside and yes there it was a rattlesnake!!! Hiding under a woodpile and I am by myself!!! I grabbed a shovel uncovered a very angry snake!! I killed the snake, removed the head, gave it to Jag and stood back to watch the excitement!!! Out here we have quite a few rattlers and the dogs run upon them before I do. On my website you can see the snake Louise, Jag’s daughter found for me!! All of my dogs have been bitten, they normally only get bitten once, they are very smart! But I figure this is very good practice for them and especially after they have found it and held it at bay for me! |
