Hi everyone, I was stationed at Pioneer Kaserne,in 1957-1959,and I really enjoyed my time in Hanau,Germany. Too bad I couldn't have stayed longer,it s a great country to visit or live there. I was attached to the 589th Engineer Supply Co. I was a heavey truck(5ton tractor,Jeep,2 1/2 ton,nd 3/4 ton also,so I guess it was everything except the Heavey crane we had there.)We had a bunch of great guys, and a few odd balls, but nice odd balls.I married a german girl(Ingrid) there and my 1st son was born in Grossauheim,(we are on longer together) I played TDY Baseball my last year there with post team,it was alot of fun,my last game before I was shipped back to the states,we had a brawl on the diamond with the Berlin bears. Our picther didn't mean to hit their player, but it was on. MPs stopped it all. We lost the game.Any way if anyone from the year I was there, please email me and we can talk about our tim there. - John Perez, Sat, 30 Mar 2013 1:59PM | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
