Talisman of Love Set-1973
Heavy well made set with masks and crabs, also produced in gold-tone.
From a 1973 Sarah Coventry catalog this is the description given about the set. "The "Talisman of Love" was created by a young artist from Bombay, India named Durriya Shikari. The design is captivating in its simplicity and yet mysteriously enchanting in its meaningful symbols. Somehow, one feels the deep strength of character of the artist and the rare touch of genius in combining art forms to create the "Talisman of Love." In the complete set we find four important symbols being used, which symbolically exude the good things in life.
The SUN to give us brightness and show us the way of peace.
The MOON, the latest symbol of progress and discovery.
The CIRCLE to circumscribe all who believe.
The CHAIN which links us all into a worldwide brotherhood.
The "Talisman of Love" has the look of two worlds-the old and the new.
