The V-173 Flying Pancake
| A new exhibit at the Frontiers of Flying Museum in Dallas Texas is the Vought V-173 Flying Pancake. A WWII prototype aircraft that is on loan from the Smithsonian Museum for the next 10 years. This aircraft, a very unique almost round plane was built by Vought Aviation, it first flew in 1942 and was tested through 1947. It was canceled because the jet was the wave of the future. |
