Tropical Waters - 2008
The vintage cabochons used in this DiMartino Originals Parure are some of the most beautiful ever made. These stones capture the colors of the tropical waters for which the set is named. Staring into them it’s easy to feel the warm tropical breeze on your skin, to smell the floral scents that engulf you and to see the abundance of color that surrounds you. The stones themselves look like underwater bubbles with iridescent reflections of every color of the rainbow floating subtly through them. When stones like these are combined with the art of Ms. DiMartino the result is nothing short of spectacular.

The cabochons are vintage glass lamp work stones made around 1950. They are very rare and will only become more so as this type of stone is no longer being manufactured. Sharing double billing with the magnificent cabochons are vintage Swarovski heliotrope navettes. These navettes reflect blue, teal and purple and are simply gorgeous. Accenting these two stones are Swarovski rhinestones of blue zircon, aqua, amethyst aurora borealis and amethyst. All in all, they blend into a downright jaw dropping set of jewels.

Spring Woodlands - 2008
As the bitter cold of winter envelops us in its flat, grey skies it’s only natural to start longing for the rebirth of spring. There is no better place to enjoy this rebirth than in the woods of Tennessee. The brown of the trees and earth subtly change with the new spring sunshine. Bits of green push through the deep cover of long dead leaves and tiny lavender wildflowers blossom. The earth is once again alive and this DiMartino Originals™ Parure celebrates that life.

This is the largest, most extravagant set Ms. DiMartino has created to date AND it has two, count them, TWO, bracelets. How much fun is that? She added a new embellishment to this set, tiny gold settings surround the rust colored stone in the middle of each ‘flower’. It adds just that extra bit of elegance, as if this set needed more.   Swarovski rhinestones of smoked topaz, Madeira topaz, light topaz, jonquil, olivine and light cardinal abound in this set.

Midnight Passions - 2007
It’s one of those wild late night thunderstorms. The wind whips the tree branches against your window and the chimes chatter in the strong wind. The rain is loud on the roof. The thunder cracks through the air and every flash of lightening makes the hair on the back of your neck stand on end. Your senses are wildly alive. The electricity has been out for an hour, candlelight, a crackling fire for warmth and the occasional flash of lightening are the only illumination. You’re on your third glass of wine; storms have always frightened you as much as they thrill you. You wish you weren’t alone for the fifty-third time that night when you hear keys in the door…

Blue Venetian - 2008
Venice, Versailles, Vienna. What images come to mind when you hear these names? In their heyday, these places were centers of culture, education, beauty and the arts. It was a time of opulence, a time of elegance, a time of gold trimmed paintings and gilt furnishings, a time of women in gorgeous ball gowns and grand waltzes, a time when over the top was the norm and royalty ruled benevolently. Admittedly, this is a romantic version of those times and places, but then, this Parure by Ms. DiMartino is a romantic set of jewels.

The focal point for this set was the magnificent blue & gold Venetian art glass cabochons. These cabochons are vintage 1950s/1960s and were made by drizzling gold foil with blue and amber glass. You may recognize this cabochon from the Juliana sets that are in such great demand. These cabs are one of the most beautiful art glass stones ever made.  They are mesmerizing in person. As you stare into them they appear fluid and you would swear that the colors swirled and changed before your eyes. They are complimented by Swarovski rhinestones of sapphire, light sapphire and topaz.

Apache Summer - 2008
If you’ve ever spent any time in the southwest in the summer your first impression is probably of brown, but look closely and you’ll see color bursting from the most unexpected of places. The wildflowers of the spring have given way to mesquite trees and long armed cactus. The sky is a deep blue and seems to go on forever and the sunsets are vibrant and full of bright, exploding colors. This is the land the Apache call home, the land of Geronimo, the Chiricahuas, the Superstition Mountains and the inspiration for this beautiful DiMartino Originals™ Parure.

The centerpiece of the necklace is a huge (32x17mm) volcano navette but the real treasure of this Parure is Ms. DiMartino’s liberal use of the large (18mm), drop dead gorgeous volcano rivolis that look like fire in the sky. These amazing stones burst with pinks, reds, yellows and oranges with just the tiniest hint of blue and purple. This set also employs an abundance of open back smoked topaz ovals and diamonds, a shape that is getting more and more difficult to find. Topping it all off are rhinestones of Montana blue, Colorado topaz, olivine, and vintage fancy, dentelle cut rhinestones in dark rose.

Carousels and Cotton Candy - 2008
FEATURED IN BELLE AMORE MAGAZINE Summer 2008.

Evoking the memories of magical, carefree summer days is Carousels and Cotton Candy. As a child who among us did not want to grow up to be a princess? It was easy to imagine yourself as a princess when you were riding a carousel with beautifully colored and bejeweled mythical animals, listening to the joyful music, savoring the cool breeze of movement on a hot summer day and eating that rarest of childhood treats, fluffy clouds of pink cotton candy.

It is for those of us who still believe, who still have imagination that Ms. DiMartino created this stunning set. The centerpieces of this set are the rare large diamond shaped vintage Swarovski vitrail medium (watermelon) stones. These are, arguably, one of the most beautiful stones Swarovski made and, of course, they are no longer producing them. These stones are alternated with open back light rose ovals and accented by navettes and chatons of fuchsia, rose, light rose, olivine, citrine and crystal aurora borealis rhinestones.

This was the inspiration for this beautiful Parure by DiMartino Originals™.

Just like pools of freshly melted springs reflect your image the Swarovski watermelon stones in this set appear to reflect the colors of the surrounding rhinestones. Navettes of pink, lavender/blue (the stone changes color depending on the light) yellow and olive are reminiscent of the leaves and petals of spring flowers. They are wrapped in a chain of purple rhinestones with drapes of crystal aurora borealis. Around the top of the necklace and tucked subtly on all of the other pieces, Ms. DiMartino has added tiny pink florets – a stunning artistic touch.

Harlequins are more often than not the most popular of the comic servant characters in biting Italian theater. Frequently these characters wore the masks that we now associate with Mardi Gras, masks that make the wearer mysterious and intriguing and romantic. These are the same traits that make the rare vintage Black Harlequin faux opal glass cabochons at the center of this DiMartino Originals Parure so mesmerizing.

You’ve put in a full hard day. It was one of those rough days, the days that you are glad to see end. Supper’s over, the kids have gone to bed. You grab a glass of wine and head outside to savor the last vestiges of daylight as the once brilliant sun fades into the horizon. Streaks of orange, pink, purple and blue compete with the ever growing darkness. You curl into him on the old teak bench and neither of you say a word. You don’t need to. You are safe, you are content and the evening is perfect. Evening Paradise, who could ask for more?

Take a Walk on the Wild Side - 2007
Do you remember the 1960s? For the first time in my young life color was in vogue. More was good and brighter was better. Neon pink was mixed with chartreuse. Red and pink no longer clashed, blue and green were combined and tie dye was everywhere. It was the beginning of the end for white cotton gloves, afternoon tea, wide brimmed hats (unless you happened to be the Queen of England), and putting on heels and dresses to go to the grocery store. Jewelry designers didn’t sleep through this time period. Costume jewelry was big and the industry embraced the new color schemes. This DiMartino Originals™ Parure is Ms. DiMartino’s salute to that inimitable decade.

Take a Walk on the Wild Side Flat
Rare 18mm & 8mm vintage Swarovski rivolis that reflect all the colors in the rainbow, purple, blue, green, yellow, orange, red & pink and large ruby oval rhinestones are all featured prominently in this bright, colorful set. These stones are accented by rhinestones of Montana blue, olivine, cardinal (purple), Madeira topaz (rust) and fuchsia. Just in case your senses still crave more, single olivine and ruby rhinestone chatons are sprinkled here and there. Swarovski crystal chains of ruby and crystal Aurora Borealis chatons tie everything together.

Morning Dew on Peaches 2007
Early morning in the summer is often the best time of the day. The oppressive heat hasn’t hit yet, the children are still asleep (and quiet!) and the traffic is still light. You sit outside with your coffee and savor the beauty of the rising sun. The birds are chirping and foraging and the flowers are opening from their night’s closure. Everything is fresh, the air is sweet and the dew on your peach tree glistens and sparkles in the first light. Thus was the inspiration for this DiMartino Originals Parure.

Enlarge photo 282

Morning Dew on Peaches Flat
Swarovski vintage peach rhinestones that are no longer being made and that Ms. DiMartino been hoarded for years are complimented perfectly by olivine and jonquil rhinestones, both open and close backed. Giving the set a timeless feel are sage faux pearled glass cabochons. The shapes alone in this set are a feast for the eyes. Ovals, navettes, chatons, pears and diamond shapes are all incorporated.

Christmas Berries - 2007
What an amazing time in which we live! The colors of Christmas are no longer relegated to green and red. Blue and white and purple abound. Christmas fruit is no longer just oranges, tangerines and that one rare, expensive pomegranate. In this global economy we can get fresh kiwis, star fruit, mangoes, crisp apples, cranberries, melons, grapes and succulent strawberries and raspberries even when the snow is turning our world white and plants and trees are standing bare and dormant in the howling wind. Christmas fruit baskets are filled with these once exotic fruits and explode with color. Such was the inspiration for this wonderful DiMartino Parure.

Tabac Rivoli Grand Parure - 2007
Swarovski calls the rivolis used in this stunning Grand Parure Tabac. The crowning glory of this set is the stunningly gorgeous, vintage,  hand painted "Easter Egg" cabochons from West Germany, ca 1950.  Delicately shaded from lavender to pink to orange to yellow and splattered with golden flecks they call to mind the cool, fresh sunrises over the Tucson desert - and if you've ever spent time in Tucson in August you know that the sunrises are the very best part of the day, fresh and spectacularly beautiful.Hand painted porcelain "
