Jesse
August 11 2009- Jesse Bloated tonight.. dont know why, no vets can figure out why dogs bloat.. luckily i knew the symptoms (pacing, attempting to throw up, go to the bathroom nothing happening, then stomach bloats and gets huge) so once she started pacing and trying to throw up off to the vet we went.. my vet is FANTASTIC.. surgery was done to put her stomach and spleen back where it belongs, and he tacked her stomach.once a dog bloats there is always the chance it will happen again even with a tacked stomach. if the tacked stomach sutures hold up the stomach cant flip, but it can still bloat.Food must now be fed in small amounts 3-4 times a day instead of twice a day. to learn more about bloat go to http://www.globalspan.net/bloat.htm and LEARN the symptoms.. dogs untreated WILL DIE..she is now recovering at home, and hopefully will live a long life.
never ever buy a dog from a pet store, no matter how cute and cuddly they seem.. Jesse was hard to housebreak, and the first year of her life we spent over $3000 on her health. She was diagnosed with Hip Displasia at 9 months old, and also has food allergies and air borne allergies as well. She is allergic to wheat, rice, corn, soy, cats, grass, oak trees, chicken and turkey as well. She is on medicine for life for her hip displacia, and is on a holistic diet for her allergies, . If you want a pet go to your local shelter or find a rescue group... Dont support Puppy mills.. as that is where ALL dogs from pet stores come from.. Puppy mills.in PA, Missouri, etc...Here are some videos to watch that show the truth about puppy mills http://wcbstv.com/topstories/local_story_332232251.html

While Jesse has her health issues, she is a great dog for our home, and is a typical very protective german shepherd when it comes to her home.. She is a typical German Shepherd temperment wise, however she is not pure, as she doesnt fit the typical GSD breed history.. thats what happens when you get a dog from a pet store..no matter what the registration papers say, the dogs are so overbred they are unhealthy and genetically screwed up most of the time. | Date(s): December 19 2005.
