Gateway Trail & Hwy 96 Bridge (May 17, 2004)Photos of the bridge during construction. It goes over Highway 96 so that users on the Gateway Trail can pass overhead this busy roadway.
7/31/04: The bridge was dedicated today!
7/21/04: The Gateway Trail bridge over Hwy. 96 is completed! The bridge itself has an arched concrete surface with railings, and the connections to the existing trails at each end are nicely blacktopped and there is really no need to slow down (except for other trail users, of course).
There is also a small parking lot off Hwy. 96 under the bridge for maybe 10-15 cars, and a satellite there too. |

Midtown Greenway (Phase 2) (October 2004)Phase 2 Opens to the Public Saturday November 6, 2004 @ 3:00pm.
Photos of the Midtown Greenway (Phase 2) in progress. Crews paved Phase 2 of the Midtown Greenway from 5th Avenue South to 28th Street South the week of Oct 20th, 2004.

Also enclosed are some computer drawings of the Midtown Greenway bridge over Hiawatha programmed for construction in 2006/2007. This project is being funded with Federal and Hennepin County funds to facilitate a safer crossing. The City of Minneapolis will maintain the bridge. The design firm prepared the drawings to help us visualize what the bridge would look like.
