The Salmon netters of Mudeford Bay
Some time ago I took a cycling holiday that included a long stopover in Christchurch, Dorset. One day I walked to Mudeford Bay on the off-chance of seeing the last Salmon fishers on the southern coastline. I was rewarded with a half day and many hundreds of images of these stalwart gentlemen of the sea. Whether it is due to over-fishing or pollution the fishermen realise that their time is nearly over.
These are the best images, in my opinion, from that day.

With all the nets and oars stowed the party pull the boat back upstream to shoot the net anew.

The boy is carrying away just one Flounder, the total result of 4 hours of fishing! It is no wonder that the fishermen no longer come here to catch Salmon.
