Third Month (November 6 - December 5, 2008)| This month Abby's smiles continued to grow and she began to laugh... not often, but often enough. We were also able to go on a few successful outings to the book store and the grocery store... big steps for us! Abby celebrated her first Thanksgiving. Grandma Pat and Aunt Becky came to spend the holiday with us and enjoy Abby's company, and Tanya and Dion came to visit as well. Abby celebrated Thanksgiving in her own way by switching her sleep schedule back to days only for a few days to make sure her Mom spent the holiday as exhausted as possible. We still had a lot of fun though, and by the end of the month we could make her laugh almost every day! |

Second Month (October 5, - November 5, 2008)Wow... we're already into her second month of life! She had a major growth spurt in the first week and for four days didn't do much but eat (she didn't even sleep much!). Since then she's been sleeping on a bit more of a regular schedule, but still not completely predictable. She has started smiling and cooing with vowel sounds. She has a lot of alert time during the day and loves to be in her gym or just looking at talking with people. We're having such a blast with her!
Update at the end of the month: This month with Abby has been amazing. She started smiling and has progressed to the tiniest of baby giggles. She started sleeping for 6-7 hour stretches at night, and her awake time during the day is typically very active and happy. She has been a tremendous amount of fun and we can't wait for all the months to come! |

Fourth Week (October 3, 2008)| After a rough third week, we started to really settle in during her fourth week. The medicine for her reflux kicked in, and I stopped eating all dairy, which helped her to be much more comfortable and happy (much less gas!). Plus we found out that baths are a great way to improve her mood! She's growing so fast! |

Third Week (September 26, 2008)This week we don't have so many pictures. Just after she turned two weeks old, we started to suspect that Abby has reflux and she also started some protracted fussy and crying periods. We went to the doctor to discuss this and have her weighed and she is gaining weight like a champ. But her newfound fussiness and inability to sleep well left Bill and I extremely exhausted and not much in the mood for pictures. Fortunately, the Grandmas started arriving at the end of the week to help us out. Also, Abby got her first non-family visitors at home, so we still had a big week!

Second Week (September 19, 2008)This was a busy week. When she was 9 days old, the Grandmas departed and Bill and I were on our own! We managed pretty well. The big news this week was the loss of the umbilical stump, revealing an adorable belly button. Enjoy the pics!

Baby Shower (July 13, 2008)| Becky and Mom held a baby shower for us on Sunday, July 13 in Norwich, NY. Becky organized some fantastic games and a delicious cake. It was tons of fun and we got some beautiful gifts. Thank you everyone for participating and helping to build even more excitement! |
