Work Day at Douglas Point (June 17, 2006)PHTA members worked with the Bureau of Land Management and local volunteers from southern Maryland to improve the newest designated segment of the PHNST at Douglas Point in Charles County, Maryland.
The work opened up the trail route by pruning and bush cutting, marking the route with paint blazes and clearing a side trail to Blue Banks Beach on the Potomac River. |

Piscataway Creek Trail Workday (March 25, 2006)PHTA President Bill Niedringhaus, Executive Director Ric Francke, members Mark Holt and Jim Hudnall, along with about a dozen local volunteers, worked on a section of PHNST along Piscataway Creek in Prince George's County. This is the first of three "Trails Forever" events. They installed French drain trenches on wet spots, over which they laid geocells and filled them with gravel. |
