Gibson Les Paul Standard 1980
Original Tim Shaw pickups, see pics. Lots of info on the internet about Tim Shaw.Tim Shaw was an engineer at Gibson who started deigning PAF type pickups from 1980 to around 1987. Pickup codes 498/499 corespond to several lists or Tim Shaw pickups I have found when doing a search. the last two digits in the code are the year date IE 1980.
Tuners are not original. Grovers fitted at one time. Original Pots code dates I can read date to 1979. See pics. Tone Pros bridge and stop tail upgrade installed. Original frets have been dressed previously and do show some marking but still have a lot of life left in them. Unless you like shiny new Jumbo frets of course.
Neck is 3 piece maple. Top is 3 piece.
Body is solid not multi sandwich layered. It looks like 2 pieces. Very hard to tell. All in all, a nice example of an early 80's, 30 + year old players Gibson Les Paul to cherish for a long time to come. | Album by nicks guitars. Photos by mad dog. 1 - 53 of 53 Total. 0 Visits. |
