Nebraska Synod Council
2007-2004 Combined albums Nebraska Synod Council The Nebraska Synod Council is the board of directors of this synod and serves as its interim legislative authority between meetings of the synod assembly. Duties and specifics are outlined in Chapter 10, Nebraska Synod Constitution. Council meets at least 3 times a year; traditionally, they meet quarterly.
But exactly what does our Synod Council do? Members pray and worship together, they read and learn, bring their congregational experience and personal expertise to the business and issues that face the collective of all of us that is the Synod. They vote on matters that keep the machinery of the synod in good order, they consider issues in front of the synod, they work to make sure that our synod models good Lutheran Christian behaviors. Former members tell us: “As a lay leader in a local congregation I did not fully grasp the ministries at the Nebraska Synod and Churchwide levels until I began serving ...Mission Share and Designated Offerings help each one of us to join in ministries that as individual people and individual congregations would be impossible to carry out ...” “The work of the Council is very important. It is the body that takes care of our Synod’s business ... it is not just business. It is business lead by the Hand of God ... the Spirit. Business in the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ. It is important work ...difficult and challenging work." | Date(s): January 15, 2007. Album by Nebraska Synod, ELCA. 1 - 24 of 63 Total. 0 Visits. |
