1 section of 1/2 acre paddock that is all rutted up. March 29th photo.
| 2 bigger view of field in March showing the mess of the paddock.
| 3 Not happy horses in March.
| 4 last evening in their new pasture.
|
 5 new pasture.
| 6 Beanie still is looking at the grass on the other side of the fence. Is it greener Beanie??
| 7 Harry just glad for grass. I have to keep this pasture mowed every 5 days or so because it is so rich, and because of Harry's laminitis attack last year.
| 8 showing edge of new pasture and 'arena' I built on Monday.
|
9 showing arena I put it so I have a place to work the horses. I removed all the stones, mowed and rolled it, and put up edging and letters. Good alternative to a real ring.
| 10 Standing water after today's storm
| 11 Barn flooded. Shavings, even though they are up on plastic, are now wet and ruined. no way to get this water out without trenching and tiling.
| 12 Water all the way back, 1" below the concrete, soaking the boxes that are wooden, and contents.
|
13 Pouring down water from upstairs. Hay that is on pallets and covered is now damp. You cannot use damp hay, it molds, and will cause inflammation of the lungs, and poison the horse.
| 14 More standing water at the back end of the first floor.
| 15 Water pooling in front of the stalls, if this happens in the cold weather I will have an ice skating rink.
| 16 3" water in front of Beanies stall, everything wet. Hay is beyond his stall, all wet.
|
17 Water line above concrete in Harry's stall. puddles and ponds everywhere inside the barn.
