| 12 sept. 15, 2008, the rainbow went the entire way, 180 degrees but I only had a tiny window to get my camera and grab some photos.
|
13 Taking photos and walking, I was trying to capture the intensity of the colors. Sometimes a rainbow can be captured in your mind and heart, sometimes you get an opportunity to capture it with a camera.
| 14 I did not set this up, just kept clicking. When I put them up, I couldn't believe how the rainbow was directly into the corn, on top of Harry's back, and Beanie's cross is right in line. What are the chances of that?
| 15 Harry, unperturbed by the fact that I'm moving about, cars are stopping to take photos, he's only interested in...........his gorgeous pasture.
| 16 Another full photo of the scene. We had 50-70 mph unrelenting winds starting around 11PM last night, which lasted until around 4AM. Everything was moving and shaking in the house, which made it impossible to sleep. I'm surprised that the branches of one of the huge pines didn't break and crush the porch roof.
|
17 One of my favorites. Carpe Diem.
| 18 A wider view.
| 19 After spending 2 hours corralling her into Harry's barn pasture (his windows were closed during all of this because he was on super high alert) - she suddenly decided to get out of there through the high tensile rope, and started down the lane into the corn with the sheriff following. I couldn't take too many photos, as we were more concerned with finding the owner and keeping her off the highway, than photos.
| 20 The poor Sheriff was trying to find the owners and I was crossing into the field after I set out 2 boxes of reflective triangles on the road which is only 100' from where she is right here. That doesn't take long if they decide to leave.
|
21 It was almost 3 hours into this that we finally found the owners and they came over. Shannon and Sean and Roland-resident cow wrestler, (who I called and got out of bed, bring her down out of the corn. She's just in front of the truck. That little romp took almost 2 hours, as she had run up that lane and down the other side (this is a 100 acre field of 12' corn)and Shannon finally got her back on the lane, up the hill, and Sean got the rope on her. Roland is wrestling her because she did not want to leave the corn.
| 22 It's hard to see her but she is trying to sneak into the tree on the right and into the pasture again. I hooked up my trailer and we finally got her into that, and I took her home. Needless to say, Harry did NOT get ridden yesterday, he was on edge and panic ridden all day. He got enough exercise-
| 23 Practicing our lengthened trot during our lesson on Sunday Aug 10, 2008. This is off the video that was taken, so it's a bit grainy.
| 24 Harry finally finds his lengthened trot!!! Whooopeeee!
|
25 10 meter circle at the canter. Sunday August 10, 2008.
| 26 Most horses would be freaking out with a 38 axle tractor trailer and 4 escort vehicles, lights blinking, right next to him. These things are enormous! I was just happy it didn't roll off down into the field.
| 27
| 28 Really concerned isn't he?
|
29 What truck? I'm only interested in my grass.
| 30
| 31 I rode Harry, as planned, while the crew of the truck and escort service went to breakfast in town. He could have cared less about what was there, what lights were flashing etc. When I finished working him, I turned him out in the field and took photos.
| 32 Early this morning one of the wind turbine bases pulled over on my road next to the dressage arena. They are required to take a break between 7-9am.
|
33 Yes Childe Harolde you are gorgeous!
| 34 Don't bother me please!
| 35 Having just spent 30 min trying to get to the ring with Harry suddenly displaying his 'airs above the ground' I can feel him going into 'alert' mode and here I am with long reins and no contact.
| 36 The road from the warm up arena to the ring for our first test.
|
37 After the test, which was videotaped, he's a bit more calm.

| 39 Nice photo of us. Someone said I looked like the lady in Out of Africa. Hmmmm, wonder what that meant? hahaha
| 40 Harry is almost asleep. All those shenanigans have worn him out.
