enlarge 47KB, 407x640 2 A very kind friend sent me this, a 1920s VT. show medal. I was so thrilled with this, and the next time you are in NH, you must go see The Antique Shop Girl in N. Haverhill, NH. Her shop is amazing and so is she.

I wore these ONCE and promptly lost them while walking the cross country course the afternoon before Beanie's last competition. I look every time I go over to the course. I loved these so much, as they reminded me of Beanie and Sally. Interestingly it was the same weekend my Harry horse was foaled, but I didn't buy him until 2001.

enlarge 94KB, 624x640 18 My Aunt's Jade beads with a horse netsuke, another reclining horse netsuke, and a horse shoe nail made from a Tiffany Jean Shumberger eternity ring my father gave my mother. She didn't like the fact that the stones went all the way around so she had it changed. I got it, and took what was left and had it added to a golden horseshoe nail.
enlarge 100KB, 640x636 19 Artisan Challenge pieces. These were made in class when we first started. We were given 30 min to grab a piece of metal and wire and fold it into something. (horsehead at top)
Then when we got to fusing, we were given 5 min. to grab up to three pieces of metal, and 30 min. to design and finish a piece, (2 horses brooch on left). We were NOT allowed to make any alterations, cuts, or bends, or changes to the metal.
The box top brooch on the lower right was our first piercing, soldering a box top, design positive/negative, and make a brooch or a box top. I chose a brooch. It was a 6 day challenge.
enlarge 74KB, 499x640 20 My first brooch that really started my bakelite collection based on my own horses. I picked all of them only if they reminded me of happy, healthy, comical and whimsical attitudes. This was typical of Beanie's demeanor he was quite focused and had a great work ethic.
Bakelite with glass eyes and brass browband and rein.
