best finds 2007
13. best finds 2007  (december 16,2007)
These are my best finds of 2007.  Some I watched for months waiting to get the funds to buy, some I found and had to have immediately as the price was right. Only one I sold, as it was taken off my jacket at Wolfe Myrow's in Providence during the Convention!  There were others that I liked, but sold.  But these are the best and for now I'm keeping them to wear.

october 2007 Harry
14. october 2007 Harry  (October 27, 2007)
Photos by my friend Dr. Kim McGann of Harry and me playing around at work. It was Fall of 2004 when Valerie came to help us.  We spent the first lesson at the walk trying not to fall down.  In fact, we spent almost 16 months walking.  The counted walk.  It was 2 years before we could go out into the back field or a big field without him losing it - and trying to lose me. He still has his Harry Moments, or 'Harryisms' as Valerie and I have dubbed them, but they are not as fractious or frequent as they used to be.  Since we live on a main highway that is travelled daily by giant farm equipment, and oversized loads carrying the sections of the 300' windmills every day, and 16 axle trailers and herds of motorcycles, he is totally bombproof. This is 3 years of consistent hard work for Valerie, Harry and me. It's a choice I made years ago when working with my horse partners.  Okay, I'm somewhat obsessed but it's definitely worth the effort. Sometimes it just takes more time for some horses than others.  It's a work in progress, and takes tremendous committment and patience. The rewards are so many - having a safe kind and wonderful horse that's like riding on a cloud.

17. Favorite Sport  (June2007)
Photos of me eventing, hunting, showing the 'A' circuit, and dressage with my wonderful  horses.  90% of the time it all goes smoothly.  Unfortunately you are partnered with a living breathing being when you are on the horse, and their reasoning capabilities are not quite what we would like.  Some have more of a survival instinct than others..........

I've added some photos from Shane's trip to Japan in Feb. to launch his new line.  The other photos are from the Gravity-X Games in CO March, and Osaka January.  All he does is work, so I'm glad to see he's finally trying to take a day off once in a while.

33. photos for jonnie miller  (June 17, 2004)
Here are photos of what pasture looked like the end of march, and today with the new pasture.  I've mowed everything down, and hopefully a local farmer will come in and plow, disk, and fit the small 1/2 acre that is full of holes for me.  (I can pay for this-but it has to be done because even walking across to the new pasture is dangerous.  I built the arena Monday so I have a place to work the horses.

Bonny Highland Farm-Bram Barn
35. Bonny Highland Farm-Bram Barn  (March 29, 2004)
I moved here in February, 2004, and these photos have been taken since then.  It shows the west end of the barn in particular, and it's damage.  This damage was caused last August, 2003.  The floors, walls and all inside structures are tongue and groove 4" material.  New doors have replaced open areas to save from further damage. Measurements of main barn is 39' across front and back, 82' long.  Inner 'room' section of second floor where there are tongue and groove maple boards 3" and 4" is 10' high and 17' deep with a 5' walkthrough.  Annex measurements are 25' wide by 34' long.  Boards on ceiling are 8" to 15" wide, siding is 8" wide, concrete floor.  Beams are maple, floor and siding are t&g, some beams rough sawn, round ceiling/floor beams in annex holding up floor.  3x12 joists.  See all photos.  Completed March 2004.

Taking Photos of Jewelry
38. Taking Photos of Jewelry  (November 30, 2003)
To take pictures of rings and other 'stand up' jewellery,  get a piece of good unscratched glass and clean it thoroughly.   Lay the sheet of glass on two piles of books (or whatever) and put the item
on the glass with a suitable unfussy background beneath it.    If you light at an angle from the vertical, then photograph immediately above the item,  it will appear to be floating in space, emphasized if there is a shadow to one side.

The larger the piece of jewelry, like necklaces or sets, use more books to elevate the dome over it, that way when you place the lens of the camera in the hole you have created in the top of the dome, you will be able to see the entire grouping.

You will have to experiment with various lights to make sure you have enough.  I shot these this morning in a room with skylights and tall windows to the side of me, so I had to put this in the corner.  If I do this at night, I can use the overhead lights in the ceiling and put everything on the table.  You have to make adjustments with your setup for your particular room and lighting.

46. Christmas Day 2002  (December 25, 2002)
Hi All,
I just thought I'd update you on what I did on Christmas Day, (besides wading through the snow, being creative with the horses clothing because it was such a wet snow, and finally my Christmas TREE!  Yes, I wasn't going to let this Holiday get me down, and so cleaning and trimming the tree, and the horses took about 12 hours, and made the day go very very quickly! Now on to the FUN!!

DOW-Native American
48. DOW-Native American  (November 26, 2002)
My father gave this choker and earrings to my mother in 1957. He bought it in Scottsdale, AZ for their 30th anniversary.  The earrings were clips, and I had them converted in 1970.  The concho belt was bought at that time but not by the same designer.  The cuff bracelet is sterling, heavy, but earlier and from 1948.  I don't know where he got it.  I cannot find marks anywhere.
