1 Sunday September 25th, 2016, it's now autumn and it's also a gorgeous day for a car show. Eisenhower Park is a terrific venue, with plenty of space and parking. I try to work out a system for covering a large expanse. I start at one side and zig-zag the aisles from back to front, so I end up near where I started. The Tumbler from the second iteration of the Batman series was something I haven't yet seen in real life.
| 2 It really weirds-me-out that the Back To The Future series was so long ago. Here's the noteworthy DeLorean.
| 3 An imitation of the Mad Max interceptor.Taking photos at a car show is often difficult because I cannot ask the owner to adjust the car to get the best angle, the contrast here isn't good to do the car justice.
| 4 I always liked Bucket-T hot rods, and this is a prime example of why.
|
5 This should give a rough idea of how many cars there are to view.
| 6 Woodies are a rare treasure, due to the tendency of the wood to suffer from the rigors of time and weather.
| 7 This one is as gorgeous on the inside as well as the out.
| 8 A super nice engine bay.
|
9 I was never enamored with Novas, simply because they are so plain looking. But they are small, light and have large engine compartments, so you can stuff a lot of power under the hood and make the most of it.
| 10 From an engineering point of view, The Vette is a marvel. I don't like them as a mobile electronics installer, because they are difficult and uncomfortable to work on. This guy took his to the next level.
| 11 The Dodge Dart has the same traits as the Nova, the ability to cram a big engine into a small package. I find them more aesthetically pleasing than the early Novas.
| 12 This guy decided to make his DeLorean an electric car. He even tricked it out with some L.E.Ds around the headlights.

| 14 My family had a '68 Dodge Coronet, but ours was a four door and sported a 225 c.i slant six. This is what I would have preferred. The Plymouth Road Runner and GTX were built on the same platform.
| 15 I like the way this guy fabbed up a cold air induction system on his ride.
| 16 This is the more attractive version of the Nova. The Pontiac Ventura and an Oldsmobile, whose name escapes me, had similar models built on the same chassis design.
|
17 Hard to tell in this photo, but this sled had some serious body mods on it.
| 18 I believe that this is a factory air conditioner option from a different model, added to this car. In a way the awkwardness is appealing.
| 19 I also have a weak spot for trucks.
| 20 High back bucket seats are generally frowned upon by customizers, but I prefer them over low backs, for their safety and comfort.
|
21 Chrome is a symbol of the times, but I think this design makes the truck look nose heavy.
| 22 Barracudas of all generations were cool, I'm glad the Chrysler boys decided to bring them back.
| 23 For people on a budget, the dune buggy was a great way to get into motoring. Based on Volkswagen chassis, they were inexpensive to build and fun to drive.
| 24 I like the color choice on this Model T. I don't like the wide whitewall tires, they make the cars look cartoonish.
