1 members of The National Guard were there with their Humvees. No matter how unpopular war may be, we have to support the people who fight them!
| 2 Here's a '61 Chevy. This isn't the most popular year or model Chevy, but cool is kool, no matter what category it falls upon.
| 3 This is the go-power behind the Chevy.
| 4 No matter how you slice it, bench seats suck! Look how awkward that shifter location is!
|
5 Here's a '49 Hudson Hornet. This is a real rarity. Despite the fact that it has two doors too many, it's in really nice shape.
| 6 It looks like it's a very comfortable car to ride in as well.
| 7 There were an awful lot of exotics at this show, most were of very new vintage, so you know there's money on Long Island!
| 8 Same car, different color.
|
9 Ahh, a Ferarri for a change...
| 10 No matter how inefficient these cars are, I LOVE two-seaters!
| 11 One of the bug-a-boos of photographing cars is, I never have control over their placement, so shadows often ruin a good shot!
| 12 Here you can see the row of high priced rides.
|
13 This is a McLaren, I've only seen these in magazines prior to today. This is a true supercar!
| 14 Here's another shot of the McLaren. I like the glare flash on the windshield.
| 15 This is a Lamborghini, I'm not sure which model. I neglected to bring my notepad along, and my memory ain't what it used to be.
| 16 This is the mid-engine power plant that moves this Lambo.
|
17 yep, it looks good from all angles.
| 18 Now this is my definition of a sports car, light, quick nimble and only two seats. A Datsun 280 Z. If it seats more than two, it ain't a sports car!
| 19 I'm not very fond of the color, but this is the bare-bones interior. The British sports cars of the '50s & '60s had good dashboards which was a nice touch that I find lacking in most of the modern models.
| 20 This is a Honda S2000, something that fits into my definition of a true sports car, ( Unfortunately most are equipped with automatic transmissions, and I see no sport in driving a car that shifts itself)
|
21 Although they don't come cheap, the S2000 and the Miata are the only sports cars rolling off the production lines today. The S2000 is in the $30,000 price range. The Miata is about ten grand less.
