Beginning January 20th, 2008, at 2:00 pm CST, I started up a live radio talk show at nowlive.com. The Jewelry Connection is the name of the show and I am hosting guest jewelry artists, talking jewelry design, sometimes doing tutorials, and generally exploring the world of jewelry design from an artisans point of view and experience. I invite you to join us! If you design jewelry I am filling the 2008 calender for guests artists and hope that you will consider being a guest on the show. Webcam and microphone offer the best possible interview, but pictures and text messaging are another alternative and it is quite doable. To participate is FREE. To participate you must: 1. create a membership at nowlive.com 2. download Googletalk or Gizmo chat program for free at the site (f you don't have it) 3. request friendship at my talk show site. This is a small album of some of the designs I have created using gemstones and pearls. You can view my online boutique using the following link: http://www.rubylane.com/shops/monadesigns To view all of my designs on one page scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the Show All Button! Click on the pictures for enlargements! Feel Free to ask questions or leave comments! Thank you for visiting! Mona
I have been lampworking for about six years now! I work with a dual gas torch (oxygen and propane). All of my work is kiln annealed for long enduring quality. The most recent work is first and chronicled in reverse order showing progress from day one, in the pictures at the end. If you want to see how I have progressed, start at the bottom and work your way to the top! This keeps the several people who are watching my progress from getting bored with scrolling to the bottom every time they drop in to see what is new! For questions or comments you can email me directly at mhair@pdq.net! Thank you all for your wonderful support and encouragement! Hugs to All, Mona
To view all of my torched glass on one page, instead of scrolling through multiple pages, click on the Show All button at the bottom right of this page!
Working with Precious Metal Clay (PMC) is an awesome experience. I would like to recommend two teaching publications. First is, "Creative Metal Clay Jewelry", by Cece Wire. Second, "Introduction to Precious Metal Clay", by Mary Ann Devos. There are also some great online tutuorials on PMC! http://www.pmc-conference.com/ http://www.squidoo.com/preciousmetalclay/
If you click on the button at bottom right that reads "show all", it will bring all of the pictures onto one page! Pictures of French Beaded Floral work by students from my class may be found at the end of my list of pictures here! Also included are two videos of my french beaded work! Have fun!
Hugs, Mona
TUTORIALS FOR FRENCH BEADING LEAVES
Part One on the Left & Part 2 is on the Right
The fine wooden bead spinners were purchased from Lydia Borin in Tampa Florida. Her site is www.7beads.com
For two fabulous days we had the honor of class with James Smircich! Class ran over on both days and was a complete ZEN experience. How to manage heat in different sizes of beads, how to fume in silver and gold, how to create lace and web effects on the surface of glass, how to shape beads beautifully, how to use heat on the surface of beads to create elegant and intentional distortions. A very personable fellow with a wealth of information to share. He gave us as much as he could and then some, with the time allowed.
Photos here will change or add on from time to time, as I collect photos of place, objects, or people who inspire me to create! I hope these photos also bring inspiration to you!
