1953 Volkswagen Rare Canadian Import (November 10, 2008)| The exterior shots up to image 15, were taken in November 2008 while the rest of the images were taken at the Crystal Cove car show back in 2006. The owner is very co-operative with having me shoot the car and we've already discussed shooting it at a Bavarian-style shopping mall in Huntington Beach for a real in-Germany feel for the final portfolio. With the 2010 Camaro now arriving in showrooms, this presents a perfect opportunity to look back at the way the first four generations of Camaros, from the very first classic 1967 models, all the way to the bitter end in 2002. While it took almost eight years for the Camaro to make a return engagement, as they say, better late than never.
Over it’s first 35 years there were over 100 national print ads in which the Camaro appeared. These ranged from truly memorable ads, such as ??? that were as classic as the cars they depicted, to some that showed that the Camaro was just marking time. Over the years the Camaro adapted to the changes in the marketplace and the ads that Chevrolet and its agency of record, Campbell-Ewald, served well to document the changes and give us a window into a fascinating era in the history of the blue Bowtie. |

1967 GM Beaumont SD 396 It's not a Chevy Chevelle, it's not a Pontiac LeMans, it's a Beaumont, sold as a separate brand by GM's Canadian Pontiac dealers due to the restrictions in importing US-built cars into Canada. It was a separate brand from 1964 to 1969. For more information at:
