C&C Porsche Celebration edited images | When work leaked out on 5 April that the father of the iconic 911, Ferdinand A. "Butzi" Porsche had passed, it mobilized Southern California Porsche community to pay a proper tribute. Spearheaded by Ford's Director of Advanced Design, freeman thomas (designer of the Audi TT and New Beetle and a Porsche enthusiast of the first order) and noted Porsche collector Don Murray (owner of a 1955 550 RS, 1964 904, and a 763-mile 1970 911 S among noteworthy Porsches) paid tribute by assembling a stellar collection of 911s and other Porsche automobiles for the Saturday morning gathering at Cars and Coffee in Irvine, in the parking lot between Ford's West Coast Advanced Design Studio and Mazda's US HQ. This album shows a diverse collection of Porsches, especially early 911s. |
