Rolf Tisell Picking up our new C70 at the factory where it was built was very exciting and touring the factory and watching them being built was incredible. This was more exciting than when we picked up our XC90 in 2005 because the C70 is the most fun car I've ever owned and driving it in Scandinavia was a thrill. First of all the overseas delivery option is a no-brainer. Two tickets to Europe, brand new car to drive over there and all for less money than if we purchased it here. Driving in Sweden, Denmark, and Norway is not difficult. Very few stop signs and lots of roundabouts and even a few car ferries. Driving South from the factory to the city of Malmo takes 2.5 hours depending on the amount of stops. Then there's a bridge into Copenhagen. We took the evening ferry from Copenhagen to Oslo which was fun. It arrives in Oslo the next morning. It really is a cruise ship. If you drive from the factory going North to Oslo it takes about 4 hours again depending on the amount of stops. Oslo to Stavanger will take about 8 hours but well worth it. Remember it does not get completely dark in the summer. Think of this, after a memorable vacation in Europe you can dream of the nice car that will follow you home in a few months. [...elaborating more about our trip: driving here and there, boarding ferries to cross the fjords, driving under the fjord through a rock tunnel a few hundred feet below sea level and even driving through the longest tunnel in Europe which is in Norway, 20 miles long.] ~ Rolf

Adam Posard We were all tired from a long flight, and initially thought we would simply stop in the Volvo headquarters to sign the necessary papers and then be on our way. But when we arrived, everyone was so friendly and inviting that we couldn’t refuse the offer to have a traditional Swedish meal. Shortly after we were introduced to our new XC60 in a grand showcase. Nate was very excited to check out our new car, and we all enjoyed the Volvo experience. Our only regret was not allowing more time to explore Sweden. After having a wonderful European vacation, we returned home and within 2 weeks our new car was ready to pickup at the local dealership (with the cool Swedish license plates). It was a great trip, we love the car, and it’s a fun story to tell friends who still can’t believe how many perks are included in the Overseas Program. ~ Adam, Wendy and Nate

Herb and Nancy Case Thank you so much for making our purchase of a Volvo Xc90 such a pleasant experience. Courtesy of Volvo, my wife, son and I enjoyed a mini-vacation in Sweden to pick up the car. It is truly an unrivaled overseas delivery program. Service, from the travel agency to the chauffeured connections between airports, hotels and the Volvo factory, was a delight. We look forward to saying hello to you, Horatio and Anthony when we stop in for scheduled servicing over the next five years. I hope you enjoy seeing a few of the photos we took in Sweden. Randall and Michele Gillette | Any reader who has watched the promotional video describing the Overseas Delivery Program will remember the many smiling customers enthusiastically describing their experience, many claiming it was "the trip of a lifetime". Add our names to that list. Though in our case we didn't need the encouragement offered from others that came before us. From the beginning Michele and I knew we would travel to Sweden to pick up our Volvo. Hans and Carlos Oblites | "You must sign here, there, initial here, and certify there.” Hans walked Alison through the paper work for her new Volvo with old world efficiency and purpose. “You are also driving to Norway? Mind their speed laws—the fines can be quite high,” he continued with a degree of seriousness. Though it was Christmas time, he was all business. “Watch for moose on their roads.” This is how our driving vacation with our Overseas Delivery Volvo began in Sweden.
