Bikes & Buggies was a weekend TCBC cycling trip exploring the beautiful hills and valleys of Amish country and the Kickapoo River Valley in southwestern Wisconsin (near Wilton/Ontario). On Saturday, we visited several Amish establishments, including a couple of bakeries, a furniture/quilt shop, a cheese factory and a local tour company where we learned a bit of Amish history. Sunday's ride took us through the Kickapoo Valley, exploring more back roads and stopping for lunch in Rockton at their "almost world famous" chicken-Q. Despite less-than-ideal forecasts, we lucked out and had nice weather both days.

A walk down memory lane for me. My father was from Wilton and I grew up there until the summer following third grade but I still have wonderful memories of the area. Thanks for sharing. - Ken Schroeder, Fri, 18 Jul 2008 12:26PM
