USS Pueblo
I am including this album as a small tribute to the USS Pueblo and her crew who were seized and taken hostage by North Korea on January 23, 1968. One sailor was killed in the capture and the rest were imprisoned, beaten and tortured for 11 months. I am honored to have had the privilege of meeting these men and their Commanding Officer at the time of their release and again when I was  invited to attend their USS Pueblo reunion last fall. CMDR Llyod Bucher was and always will be to me a hero. As are all the men who endured that event and the times that followed. CMDR Bucher passed away January 29, 2004.

I was also on the Annapolis when the Pueblo was taken In Later years knew the Commander quite well, he lived only a few blocks from me in Poway, Ca. We used to talk all the time. Lloyd was a down to earth guy who gave everything he had to the Navy.

Hi I was on the USS Annapolis AGMR1 heading for Australia when this happened I was in communications and we had to come back and handle the communications for this.
I feel so sorry for the crew a CMDR Bucher for what we did not do and could have I can not say any more but I know what happened and will it was wrong all the way around during the capture and after they were released we the US let these soldiers down all the way around.  I also went on the sister ship and tried to see what they could get rid of at the time.  Thanks for the pictures.
Jack Bonewell crew of the Annapolis at the time of this incident I was in Specat cripto I am not allowed to say anything but sure respect what they went thru.
